Embracing the Power of Connectivity with FWDM

FWDM (Filter Wavelength Division Multiplexer) is used in EDFA (Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifier), Raman amplifiers, WDM (Wavelength Division Multiplexing) networks, and fiber optics instrumentation. It is based on TFF (Thin Film Filter) technology and combines or separates light at different wavelengths in a wide wavelength range. This article will provide a basic understanding of FWDM.

What is FWDM 
FWDM is an optical device that can realize the multiplexing and demultiplexing of two communication signals 1490/1310 and 1550nm. It can expand the capacity of a single fiber to achieve bidirectional communication. In addition, it is used in optical network upgrades and expansion, business, etc.

Component Structure
FWDM consists of three ports: Common, reflect, and pass. It can multiplex or demultiplex two or more optical signals of different wavelengths in a single wide wavelength range channel and increase signal transmission speed and communication capacity.
